Job summary

Highgate Hotels is seeking a Catering & Conference Services Manager to sell catering events and service grouped events post-booking. You will build client relationships, negotiate to contract, plan catering operations, and ensure profitable service levels.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of progressive experience in a luxury hotel or related field; or a 2-year college degree and 3+ years of luxury hotel experience.
• Must be proficient in Windows; Company approved spreadsheets and word processing.
• Knowledge of F&B preparation techniques, dietary restrictions, health department rules and liquor laws.
• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
• Light work - exerting up to 20 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently.
• Extensive knowledge of all hotel departments.
• Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
• Effective communication with all levels of staff and guests.

Responsibilities

• Manage existing accounts and follow up with client re-solicitation to capture future business.
• Identify potential new business, develop a sales strategy and solicit.
• Meet/Exceed all revenue goals.
• Productivity goal for Blue Morel Restaurant.
• Respond to requests by Meeting and Event Planners immediately.
• Interact with outside planners and vendors for event setup and requirements.
• Plan and manage internal and/or external pre-event meetings and service events.
