Job summary

HEI Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Bartender for The Historic Cavalier Hotel and Beach Club, Autograph Collection, in Virginia Beach. You will serve guests, prepare drinks, and maintain bar setup with attention to quality and safety.

Role requires strong guest communication, basic F&B knowledge, and ability to handle cash and POS transactions. Previous hotel bar experience is preferred and physical stamina is essential for standing and moving throughout shifts.

Qualifications

• Hotel experience preferred.
• Must communicate well with guests.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service.
• Basic math skills for cash handling.
• Manual dexterity for garnish and serving.
• Ability to promote menu items and upsell.
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces.
• Good interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintains proper and adequate setup of the bar on a daily basis and stocks all beverages and supplies.
• Maintains stock and freshness of garnishes, juices, and perishables.
• Greets guests; promotes and records drink orders; mixes and presents drinks per recipes.
• Abides by state, federal, and corporate alcohol-service requirements.
• Inputs orders at POS and balances guest checks and vouchers.
• Receives cash, makes change, verifies charges, and balances money.
• Locks and stores equipment and deposits cash as required.
• Ensures attendance rules are followed and works regularly.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
