Job summary

InterContinental Hotels & Resorts in Florida is seeking an Event Sales Manager to drive business through direct sales, secure new catering accounts and manage existing relationships, while executing tactical sales plans to maximize profitability and guest satisfaction.

You will negotiate rates and space, prepare contracts, coordinate with hotel departments, host site inspections and trade shows, and follow up with clients after events to secure future bookings.

Qualifications

• Some College plus 1-2 years sales or catering related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of hotel and food & beverage operations preferred.
• Must speak fluent English. Other languages preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop business through direct outside and inside sales to secure hotel catering business.
• Negotiate guest room rates, meeting space, and banquet/catering services within approved guidelines; produce and review contracts, rate agreements, and event orders.
• Monitor inquiries and provide client proposals in accordance with department policies.
• Coordinate with other hotel departments to deliver agreed services and communicate Sales information.
• Check function room setups prior to guest arrival and ensure details meet client requirements and hotel standards.
• Attend and represent the hotel at trade shows and conventions; participate in sales trips to key feeder markets.
• Follow up with guests during and after departure to secure future bookings.
