Job summary

Fairmont Austin seeks an enthusiastic team member to provide high‑touch food and beverage service in our luxury hotel cafe. You will handle cash, operate the POS, ensure espresso and beverage quality, and maintain a clean, well‑stocked space. You’ll contribute ideas, participate in promotions, and support colleagues in a busy environment.

The role emphasizes guest satisfaction, teamwork, and adherence to safety standards in a fast‑paced setting, with opportunities for growth within the property.

Qualifications

• Previous guest service experience preferred.
• Previous POS system experience preferred.
• Must have good cash handling skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities.
• Highly responsible and reliable.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team.
• Focus on guest needs with a calm and courteous demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely, personalized, friendly and efficient food and beverage service to guests.
• Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the cafe exceeds expectations.
• Contribute ideas and participate in departmental communications.
• Participate in monthly departmental sales promotions.
• Ensure all beverage products meet standards.
• Keep cafe stocked and communicate 86 items to the Manager on Duty.
• Maintain a clean cafe area and functional equipment.
• Report concerns to the Manager on Duty.
• Maintain health and safety and a safe work environment.
• Uphold Fairmont Service Essentials at all times.
• Complete side duties promptly.
• Assist colleagues in daily tasks as required.
