Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a manufacturing engineer to join our Space Coast Operations team. You will design and implement efficient manufacturing systems, ensure quality control, and optimize production and supply chain processes for spaceflight hardware.

The role requires 5+ years in manufacturing or process engineering, experience with DFx/DFM/DFT, and collaboration with design, QA, and production to deliver reliable, cost-effective manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in relevant engineering field from an accredited university.
• 5+ years in manufacturing, industrial, or process engineering.
• 3+ years creating English work instructions.
• U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S. with valid status.
• Ability to work second shift and flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Industrialize new products, including solar arrays, integration and test, avionics, and structures.
• Design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), design for test (DFT).
• Translate engineering requirements into robust, repeatable manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with design, QA, supply chain, and production teams to accelerate space hardware production.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation (work instructions, flow diagrams, tool designs, inspection plans).
• Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies (composites, precision machining, additive manufacturing, advanced assembly).
• Support root-cause analysis of process or product non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality standards.
