Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a hydrogen and oxygen propulsion hardware design engineer to own the fluids and propulsion system components for the MK2 Crew Lander. You will create CAD models, coordinate analysis and manufacturing, and work with suppliers and internal teams through the full lifecycle of the hardware.

You will lead CAD development, perform basic structural/fluid analyses, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring on-time, high-quality delivery for safe human spaceflight.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering or related field.
• 8+ years designing cryogenic tubes and fluid components.
• Experience generating 3D models and drawings in Creo for complex fluid hardware.
• Professional experience specifying fluid fittings and mounts.
• Experience with structural hand calculations and ANSYS analyses.
• Experience interpreting P&ID diagrams (P&IDs).
• ASME Y14.5 GD&T expertise.
• Experience with static and nonlinear FEA (ANSYS).
• Excellent communication and collaboration with government and commercial stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Generate CAD models for hydrogen and oxygen fluid system hardware.
• Lead design-for-manufacturability for fluid component assemblies.
• Perform basic structural and fluid analysis on system hardware.
• Size, select materials, and analyze components with supplier coordination.
• Manage project plans, cost, and schedule for hardware.
• Mentor entry-level engineers and conduct peer reviews.
