Carter Lumber is seeking an Operations Manager for a pro-oriented lumberyard. The role focuses on meeting sales targets, controlling costs, and ensuring efficient store operations.

You will manage inventory, supervise staff, and maintain clear communication with field and internal teams. Qualified candidates have leadership experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Previous sales, operational and management experience in a pro building materials store.
• Experience dealing with contractors.
• Experience analyzing inventory activity.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Manages the overall operations of a pro-oriented store, ensuring policy execution, yard activities, inventory, and weekly meetings with market management.
• Directs and manages all areas of store staff including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance discussions.
• Oversees inside sales and collaborates with the General Manager to hit sales and profit targets.
• Identifies growth needs, completes safety training, and promotes employee development.
