Marvin’s Hardware & Building Materials is seeking an Assistant Store Manager – Lumberyard to lead daily operations of the lumberyard and outdoor areas. This hands-on role requires outdoor work in all weather and strong customer service, with the ability to motivate a team and manage store tasks in the Store Manager's absence.

Ideal candidates have experience in lumber or related industries, leadership ability, and a customer-first mindset to drive sales and ensure safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in lumber, building materials, hardware, or related industry.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Able to lead and motivate a team.
• Willing to work outdoors year-round.

Responsabilités

• Lead lumberyard and outdoor operations, including receiving, stocking, loading, customer pickups, and deliveries.
• Provide knowledgeable, friendly service to customers.
• Lead by example and create a supportive team environment.
• Assist with daily store operations and cover Store Manager in their absence.
• Help drive sales, profitability, customer satisfaction, and store goals.
• Ensure merchandise is received, stored, stocked, and merchandised safely and accurately.
• Monitor lumberyard organization, inventory, equipment, and safety standards.
• Ensure customer orders are loaded accurately and deliveries are on schedule.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, training, and development of store associates.
• Identify opportunities to grow sales and strengthen contractor relationships.
