Job summary

Estes Express Lines is seeking an Assistant Service Center Manager to oversee a diverse LTL operation with up to 450+ staff across multiple shifts. You will lead, coach, hire, and develop personnel while ensuring safety, policy compliance and high service levels.

In this role you will drive the Service Center Business plan, participate in annual strategy and P&L analyses, and maintain strong customer relationships in a fast-paced dock environment. Orlando/Miami area experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum five years of management experience in LTL operations preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication and listening skills.
• Ability to hire, coach, counsel, train, mentor and terminate employees.
• Must be able to work 50 hours per week on various shifts.

Responsibilities

• Lead, guide and direct Service Center employees, set goals, monitor performance, coach and develop; manage an efficient, clean and safe LTL operation.
• Handle hiring, training and terminations; ensure paperwork follows company guidelines with timely follow-up.
• Enforce compliance with company policies, safety rules and government regulations.
• Administer the Service Center Business plan and assist in annual facility plans, strategies and quarterly reviews.
• Contribute to development and implementation of the annual business plan and Period P&L analysis.
• Investigate customer complaints and determine corrective actions.
• Investigate employee relations issues in collaboration with HR.
• Meet all KPIs and stay current with changes in procedures and policies.
• Work across all areas of service center operations; maintain regular attendance.
• General duties beyond listed responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
