Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an LPN for the NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit. The role supports RNs, performs med passes, IV piggybacks, and assists with assessments under RN direction.

Unit details include 43 beds, high acuity, bariatric certified, and a 1:4–6 nurse-to-patient ratio. A team with educators, supervisors, and managers supports professional growth. A $2,500 sign-on bonus applies to external applicants with a 2-year commitment.

Qualifications

• LPN with Illinois IDFPR license (or equivalent) and BLS within 30 days.
• College Diploma: Licensed Practical Nurse (Required).
• Work Experience: LPN >1yr.

Responsibilities

• Passes all medications and hangs IV piggybacks and fluids (excluding IV Push meds).
• Charts assessments and care plans with RN initiation and coordination.
• Communicates with physicians/APPs for orders and coordinate care for dressing changes.
• Complete trach care, NG tube insert/care and feedings, ostomy care and discharge education.
