Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit. The unit centers on acute and chronic digestive surgical patients with bariatric certification and high-acuity care.

The LPN will administer medications, assist with IV therapy, wound and ostomy care, and coordinate with RNs and physicians to ensure safe, efficient patient care. A $2,500 sign-on bonus is offered with a 2-year commitment.

Qualifications

• LPN required with Illinois licensure and BLS within 30 days.
• LPN with >1 year of experience preferred.
• Nurse to patient ratio varies by acuity; must function in a high acuity unit.

Responsibilities

• Passes all medications and manages IV piggybacks. Charts assessments after RN initial assessment.
• Chart care plans with RN, and assist with new plans as needed.
• Perform dressing changes, trach care, and NG tube care.
• Care for ostomy, provide patient education and discharge instructions.
