Job summary

West Carrollton City Schools is seeking a Substitute School Health Associate with/LPN to assist with student illnesses and medical emergencies and to support the operation of the school clinic across all buildings in Dayton, Ohio.

The role requires an LPN with CPR and First Aid certifications, and a High School diploma or GED. Preferred experience includes 1–3 years in clinical and medical office settings, with duties including clerical tasks, records management, and screening activities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Certification in CPR required.
• Certification in First Aid required.
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) credential required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains clinic records and provides clerical support for the school clinic.
• Greets clinic visitors, verifies appointment reasons, and directs to the appropriate staff.
• Contacts parents/guardians when a student is absent and notifies the nurse as needed.
• Responds to sick or injured students and initiates emergency procedures in the nurse’s absence.
• Prepares the clinic by setting up equipment and stocking supplies.
• Processes database information (input, tabulation, retrieval, printing, etc.).
• Maintains and updates student health records.
• Assists with screening activities such as vision, hearing, and scoliosis.
