Job summary

Armor Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Blair County Prison in Hollidaysburg, PA. This PRN night position supports medical services in a correctional setting, performing basic nursing tasks and coordinating patient care.

The successful candidate will hold an active LPN license, CPR certification, and be proficient with electronic medical records. Prior correctional or security-cleared healthcare experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Current/Active state LPN license.
• Current CPR certificate.
• Proficient with electronic medical records (EMR).
• Ability to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance including background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic nursing care to patients in a correctional setting.
• Assist health care providers with examinations, treatments, tests, and routine procedures.
• Obtain patient history, collect specimens, take vital signs, and administer TB skin tests.
• Conduct lab tests and ensure results reach the appropriate physician or nurse.
• Ensure patients receive appropriate care for injuries or conditions.
• Review patient charts and report symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes.

Overview

Excellent outcomes start with great people, and Armor has an exciting opportunity for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Blair County Prison in Hollidaysburg, PA.

** This is a PRN position working on Night shift 6p-630a 12hr shifts **

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic nursing care to patients in a correctional setting.


• Assist health care providers, registered nurses, and allied health professionals with examinations, treatments, special tests, and routine procedures.


• Obtain patient health history, laboratory specimens, vital signs and administers TB skin tests.


• Conduct lab tests and ensures the results are delivered to the correct physician or registered nurse.


• Ensure patient is receiving proper care for injury or condition.


• Review patient chart; records and reports observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in patient's conditions.


• Coordinate patient transfers to medical facilities or outside health care providers; administer medications; implement healthcare practitioners' orders; and document all patient contacts using the POMR format.

Qualifications

• Current/Active state license as an LPN


• Current CPR certificate
