Job summary

Armor Health is seeking a licensed practical nurse (LPN) to join the team at Blair County Prison in Hollidaysburg, PA. This PRN role covers day shifts on a 12-hour schedule (6:00 am to 6:30 pm).

You will provide holistic nursing care within a correctional setting, support physicians and nurses with examinations and treatments, and help manage patient transfers and documentation using the POMR format.

Qualifications

• Current/Active state license as an LPN.
• Current CPR certificate.
• Proficient with electronic medical records.
• Ability to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance including background check and drug screen.

• Assist health care providers, registered nurses, and allied health professionals with examinations, treatments, special tests, and routine procedures.
• Obtain patient health history, laboratory specimens, vital signs and administers TB skin tests.
• Conduct lab tests and ensures the results are delivered to the correct physician or registered nurse.
• Ensure patient is receiving proper care for injury or condition.
• Review patient chart; records and reports observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in patient's conditions.
• Coordinate patient transfers to medical facilities or outside health care providers; administer medications; implement healthcare practitioners' orders; and document all patient contacts using the POMR format.
