Job summary

Armor Health seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Blair County Prison team in Hollidaysburg, PA on a PRN day shift (6a–6:30p, 12-hour shifts).

The successful candidate will provide holistic nursing care within a correctional setting, collaborating with physicians, RNs and allied health professionals to support patient health and safety.

Qualifications

• Active LPN license is required.
• Current CPR certificate.
• Proficient with electronic medical records.
• Able to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance (background check and drug screen).

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic nursing care to patients in a correctional setting.
• Assist healthcare providers, RNs and allied health professionals with examinations, treatments and routine procedures.
• Obtain patient history, collect specimens, monitor vital signs and administer TB skin tests.
• Conduct lab tests and communicate results to the physician or RN.
• Ensure patients receive proper care for injuries or conditions.
• Review patient charts and report observed symptoms, treatments and changes.
• Coordinate transfers to medical facilities and document all patient contacts using POMR.

Overview

Excellent outcomes start with great people, and Armor has an exciting opportunity for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Blair County Prison in Hollidaysburgh, PA.

This is a PRN position working on day shift 6a-630p 12hr shifts

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic nursing care to patients in a correctional setting.
• Assist health care providers, registered nurses, and allied health professionals with examinations, treatments, special tests, and routine procedures.
• Obtain patient health history, laboratory specimens, vital signs and administers TB skin tests.
• Conduct lab tests and ensures the results are delivered to the correct physician or registered nurse.
• Ensure patient is receiving proper care for injury or condition.
• Review patient chart; records and reports observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in patient's conditions.
• Coordinate patient transfers to medical facilities or outside health care providers; administer medications; implement healthcare practitioners' orders; and document all patient contacts using the POMR format.

Qualifications
