Job summary

Armor Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) PRN to join our correctional health team in Columbus, Ohio. You will provide holistic nursing care, assist providers, take histories, vital signs and TB tests, and coordinate patient transfers in a fast-paced setting.

The role requires an active LPN license and CPR certification, with EMR proficiency and the ability to pass a background check and drug screen.

Qualifications

• Current/Active state license as an LPN.
• Current CPR certificate.
• Proficient with electronic medical records.
• Background check and drug screen required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic nursing care to patients in a correctional setting.
• Assist health care providers with examinations, treatments, tests, and routine procedures.
• Obtain patient health history, vital signs and TB skin tests.
• Conduct lab tests and ensure results reach the physician or RN.
• Coordinate patient transfers and document contacts using the POMR format.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic nursing care to patients in a correctional setting.
• Assist health care providers, registered nurses, and allied health professionals with examinations, treatments, special tests, and routine procedures.
• Obtain patient health history, laboratory specimens, vital signs and administers TB skin tests.
• Conduct lab tests and ensures the results are delivered to the correct physician or registered nurse.
• Ensure patient is receiving proper care for injury or condition.
• Review patient chart; records and reports observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in patient’s conditions.
• Coordinate patient transfers to medical facilities or outside health care providers; administer medications; implement healthcare practitioners’ orders; and document all patient contacts using the POMR format.

Qualifications

• Current/Active state license as an LPN
• Current CPR certificate
• Proficient with electronic medical records
• Ability to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance to include a background check and drug screen
