Job summary

Armor Health is seeking an LPN to join the team at Riverside Regional Jail in North Prince George, VA. This is a PRN day shift (7am–7:30pm).

The LPN will provide holistic nursing care, support providers, perform examinations and tests, obtain histories and vital signs, and ensure timely documentation and patient care within a correctional setting.

Qualifications

• Current/Active state license as an LPN.
• Current CPR certificate.
• Proficient with electronic medical records.
• Ability to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance including background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic nursing care to patients in a correctional setting.
• Assist health care providers, RNs, and allied professionals with examinations, treatments, tests, and procedures.
• Obtain patient history, specimens, vital signs, and TB tests.
• Conduct lab tests and deliver results to the physician or RN.
• Ensure proper patient care for injuries or conditions.
• Review patient charts and document symptoms, reactions, and changes.
• Coordinate transfers to medical facilities; administer meds; document contacts using POMR.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic nursing care to patients in a correctional setting.
• Assist health care providers, registered nurses, and allied health professionals with examinations, treatments, special tests, and routine procedures.
• Obtain patient health history, laboratory specimens, vital signs and administers TB skin tests.
• Conduct lab tests and ensures the results are delivered to the correct physician or registered nurse.
• Ensure patient is receiving proper care for injury or condition.
• Review patient chart; records and reports observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in patient's conditions.
• Coordinate patient transfers to medical facilities or outside health care providers; administer medications; implement healthcare practitioners' orders; and document all patient contacts using the POMR format.
