Job summary

Bethesda Health Group is seeking an LPN for a Day shift (2-week, 64 hours) at Bethesda Dilworth. The role provides basic nursing care, assessments, and care plan implementation for geriatric residents in a facility setting.

Responsibilities include updating care plans, communicating with the IDT and families, administering medications and treatments, and maintaining accurate documentation. Qualifications include active LPN license and IV certification, with long-term care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Education from an accredited school of nursing that results in becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Current LPN license in the state you will be working.
• CPR and AED certification required, or willing to obtain within six months of employment.
• IV certification required, or willing to obtain within six months of employment.
• Long-term care experience preferred.
• Must be able to assess the basic nursing care needs of the geriatric resident.
• Must possess excellent communication skills to interact with residents, visitors and staff.
• Time management and organizational skills required.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift heavy objects using proper lifting techniques and with assistance when necessary.
• Ability to transfer and move patients who vary with ability to assist weighing 200+lbs using proper lifting techniques and with assistance when necessary.
• Ability to push and pull equipment weighing in excess of 40lbs using proper techniques and with assistance when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic nursing care by assisting in the assessment of residents on admission and ongoing basis.
• Communicates any significant change in condition to the IDT.
• Documents assessments accurately and timely.
• Participates in the care planning process and updates the care plan as needed.
• Implements nursing interventions per the plan, including medications and treatments.
• Administers IV fluids only if IV certified.
• Notifies physician timely using SBARR.
• Monitors care to ensure delivery aligns with the care plan.
• Contributes to problem resolution via QAPI processes.
• Answers call lights and assists with ADLs as needed.
