Job summary

Carle Health seeks a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse to join the NT4 Orthopaedic-Urology Surgical Unit. The LPN will support RNs in medication administration, IV therapies, and patient care planning for a 41-bed unit with rapid throughput.

Responsibilities include updating care plans, coordinating with physicians, and performing trach and NG care as needed, while ensuring patient safety and discharge education. Equal opportunity employer with strong team collaboration.

Qualifications

• LPN license required and active in good standing.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire (AHA).
• Experience in ortho/urology or acute care units preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and IV piggybacks per RN orders.
• Chart assessments and contribute to initial and ongoing care plans with RN oversight.
• Coordinate with physicians/APPs for orders, dressing changes, and NG tube feedings as needed.
• Provide trach care, ostomy care, and discharge education as part of care plan.
• Reinforce education with patients and families and assist with care transitions.
