The unit operates with a team-based approach emphasizing patient safety and efficient throughput. Qualifications include IL LPN licensure and BLS, with the unit offering educator support, nurse supervisors, and a structured pathway for new staff.

Qualifications

• LPN license in IL or eligible to practice in IL.
• BLS required within 30 days of hire.
• Experience with acute care nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications and IV piggybacks as ordered.
• Completes charting and care plans after RN assessment.
• Collaborates with physicians/APPs for orders and dressing changes.
• Performs trach care and NG tube management as needed.
• Reinforces education and discharge instructions.
