Job summary

Maxim Healthcare Services, Inc. is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to work night shifts with a ventilator-dependent patient in Wasilla, Alaska.

This full-time role consists of 12-hour shifts and offers the potential for higher earnings based on experience. Responsibilities include applying the nursing process to assess and plan care, initiating and adjusting the plan as patient needs change, administering medications, monitoring outcomes, and coordinating discharge planning and education as

Qualifications

• Current License Practical Nurse (LPN) license for the state of practice.
• Current PPD or Chest X-Ray.
• Current BLS card.
• One year prior nurse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Initiates the plan of care and revises it as patient status changes.
• Applies therapeutic, preventive, and rehabilitative nursing actions.
• Responds to changes in patient condition and reports to physician or supervisor.
• Administers medications and treatments and documents effectiveness.
• Reviews care plans and coordinates education, discharge planning as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Utilizes the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate patient/client care and/or services provided to client(s) receiving contracted services, as required


• Initiates the plan of care when directed and requests from prescriber any necessary revisions as patient status and needs change


• Incorporates therapeutic, preventive, and rehabilitative nursing actions based on patient diagnosis and established goals


• Intervenes as applicable in response to changes in patient/client condition and reports such changes to appropriate physician or supervisor


• Administers medications and treatments as prescribed, as well as, monitors and documents effectiveness of intervention


• Reviews plan of care and program protocols and identifies areas for healthcare teaching/education, care coordination, goal setting and discharge planning needs, as applicable

Requirements:

• Current License Practical Nurse (LPN) License for the state in which the nurse practices.


• Current PPD or Chest X-Ray.


• Current BLS card.


• One year prior nurse experience preferred.
