Job summary

Owen Valley Rehabilitation & Nursing is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise nursing assistants in accordance with federal, state, and local standards. The role ensures high-quality care under the direction of the Director of Nursing.

Responsibilities include supervising day-to-day nursing activities, charting, administering medications, maintaining care plans, and coordinating with other departments to meet residents’ needs.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse with current unencumbered state license.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Experience in Long Term Care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants and plan shift services.
• Complete and file required records and transcriptions, admit/transfer/discharge residents.
• Prepare and administer medications as ordered by physicians.
• Maintain rapport with inter-departmental personnel and create a calm environment on the unit.
• Provide professional nursing care and participate in rounds with physicians.
• Monitor safety and confidentiality of resident information.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
