Job summary

Owen Valley Rehabilitation & Nursing is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise nursing assistants in accordance with applicable standards and regulations.

You will ensure accurate charting, administer medications, and collaborate with inter-departmental staff to maintain high-quality care. Current LPN license and CPR certification are required; Long Term Care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse with current unencumbered state license.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must be able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Knowledge of nursing & medical practices & regulations pertaining to nursing care facilities.
• Current CPR Certification is required.
• Experience in Long Term Care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants.
• Meet with assigned nursing staff and support personnel to plan shift services and activities.
• Admit, transfer and discharge residents as required and provide leadership to nursing staff.
• Complete and file required record-keeping forms upon admission/transfer/discharge.
• Receive and transcribe physician orders and chart nursing notes reflecting care and resident response.
• Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician.
• Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information and ensure privacy.
