Job summary

Rex Moore in Sacramento, CA is seeking a Systems Technician to install new electrical systems and repair existing ones while ensuring compliance with national, state and local electrical codes.

The role involves low voltage systems including Fire Alarm, Security, Access Control and Surveillance, with hands-on installation, testing, and collaboration with foremen and field staff on a busy commercial site. Travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• Holds current Fire Life Safety card.
• Holds current ACE card.
• Demonstrates proficiency in fire alarm, security, access control and surveillance products and services.
• Effectively communicates with managers, foremen, general contractors and customers.
• Demonstrates good initiative and keeps organized & busy throughout the work day.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• EST Certification Preferred.
• NICET Certification Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Program, commission and start-up of Low Voltage systems including but not limited to Fire Alarm, Security, Access Control and Surveillance.
• Installation and testing of low voltage devices, wiring and rough-in.
• Supervises, directs, monitors, trains and works alongside helpers, installers, telecom techs or electricians.
• Instructs employees assisting them in the correct operation of tools and equipment, safe work principles and technical principles that are being used.
• Provides input on employee evaluations.
• Completes all assignment-related paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
• Attends all foreman meetings.
• Regular, reliable, predictable attendance with minimal loss of work time.
• Collaborates with Fire Marshal on project final inspections.
• Effectively trouble shoot and diagnose installation and programming issues.
• Identifies, schedules and facilitates all jobsite related inspections with Customer and Field Service Manager.
