Job summary

The Low Voltage Construction Manager at Hoffman Construction will lead the onsite low voltage electrical team and coordinate with design professionals, clients, subcontractors and craftspeople to resolve complex coordination issues on hi-tech projects.

The role includes on-site quality control from preconstruction through commissioning and punch list, with responsibilities extending to training Owner’s personnel and ensuring safe startup of systems at the Sunnyvale, CA project site.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of all aspects of low voltage electrical construction.
• Education background in materials and methods of construction.
• A minimum of 5 years of electrical construction experience.
• Specific experience in industrial and/or hi-tech semiconductor projects.
• LEED Accredited Professional, or the ability to become accredited within 18 months preferred.
• Experience in organizing technical data with CSI specification system.

Responsibilities

• Oversee low voltage electrical subcontractors and vendors to maintain installation schedules.
• Coordinate startup and commissioning activities for MEP systems.
• Review construction documents and control sequences for accuracy and functionality.
• Lead startup meetings with managers, design team, subcontractors, and owners.
• Coordinate MEP systems with civil, architectural, and structural elements.
• Train Owner’s personnel in operations and maintenance of MEP systems.
• Manage submittals and RFI processes for accuracy and conformance.
• Organize record documents and ensure proper filing.
• Assist in estimating low voltage budgets and subcontractor buyout.
• Publish meeting minutes and progress checklists.
