Temporal is hiring a systems engineer to own the transaction landing service end to end. You will be responsible for the backend, networking, and the infrastructure it runs on, ensuring minimal latency and maximal uptime across a bare-metal fleet in multiple regions.

The role emphasizes hands-on ownership, profiling, and optimization of low-level components, with a focus on high-throughput, low-latency operation and direct impact on customer-facing performance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in building or optimizing low-latency systems.
• Strong understanding of tail latency and microsecond-scale decisions.
• Comfort with unsafe Rust and ownership models.

Responsibilities

• Own the transaction landing service end to end: backend, networking, and infra.
• Cut latency and improve landing rates on critical paths.
• Profile and optimize syscall behavior, memory layout, and cache effects.
• Improve network paths between infra and validators, including routing decisions.
• Operate a global bare-metal fleet: provisioning, deploys, and isolation.
• Build observability to trace per-transaction timing and reliability.
