Job summary

Biddeford School Department is seeking a Special Education - Education Technician to support students at Biddeford Primary School.

Qualifications

  • Certification as an Education Technician from the Maine Department of Education
  • Criminal History Record Check (CHRC), including fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education
  • Experience working with students with Developmental Delays

Responsibilities

  • Review and reinforce learning as previously introduced by the classroom or special education teacher.
  • Assist in drill and practice activities with students.
  • Participate in required workshops as requested by Building Leader, Supervisor, or Director.
  • Perform non-instructional functions, including suspension of students.
  • Assist in preparation of instructional materials or provide classroom management during drills, assemblies, etc.
  • Notify the teacher about any problem or special information about a student.

Brief Job Duties
  • Review and reinforce learning previously introduced by the classroom or special education teacher, and assist in drill andpractice activities.
  • Participate in required workshops at the request of the Building Leader, Supervisor, or Director.
  • Perform non-instructional, non-evaluating functions, including suspension of students.
  • Assist in the preparation of instructional materials or provide classroom management functions during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, etc.
  • Alerts the teacher to any problem or special information about an individual student.
Certification/License

Certification as an Education Technician from the Maine Department of Education

Criminal History Record Check (CHRC), which includes Fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education

Daily Rate - $125 per day
