Job summary

South Washington County Schools at Crestview Elementary School is seeking a Temporary High Needs/Resource Special Ed Paraprofessional Long Term Substitute to support students under the supervision of a licensed special education teacher. The role focuses on instructional and behavioral support, data collection, and adherence to district policies and safety procedures.

The position is 6.25 hours per day (7:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with a ½ hour unpaid lunch).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to meet District 833 Highly Qualified requirements.
• Competencies as required by State of Minnesota, Federal government, and/or District 833.
• Ability to reinforce math, reading, and writing skills.
• Ability to lift and transfer up to 50 pounds.
• Proven teamwork, confidentiality, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Consult daily with licensed special education teacher regarding daily responsibilities.
• Assist teacher with district policies and procedures and safety procedures.
• Assist students in reading, writing, and math under teacher direction.
• Support students with learning or behavioral needs and assist with daily living activities as needed.
• Document and monitor student behavior and progress as directed.
