Job summary

South Washington County Schools is seeking a High Needs/Resource Special Ed Paraprofessional for East Ridge High School. The role provides instructional and behavioral support to students under a licensed teacher, in a 6.5-hour day schedule.

The position involves assisting with reading, writing and math, supporting daily living activities, and maintaining confidentiality while promoting a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet District 833 Highly Qualified requirements.
• Follow safety and confidentiality standards.
• Ability to reinforce math, reading and writing skills.
• Lift and transfer up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Consult daily with licensed special education teacher regarding daily responsibilities.
• Assist teacher with policies, procedures, and classroom management.
• Support students in reading, writing, and math under teacher direction.
• Assist students with daily living activities as needed.
• Document and report student data per teacher instructions.
• Use behavioral management techniques and supervise during routines.
