Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a professional tractor-trailer driver to pick up and deliver trailers between service centers and turn-points. You will perform pre-trip inspections, hook/unhook equipment, and maintain logs while complying with DOT and company policies.

Some routes may involve long-distance travel and overnight stays. This role requires a Class A CDL with hazmat/tank endorsements, 1 year of relevant experience (or completion of FedEx Driver Development), and a clean MVR.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements.
• 1 year experience within the most recent 3 years or successful completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must have acceptable Motor Vehicle Record per hiring standards.
• Must meet all DOT FMC regulations under 391.
• LCV knowledge for certain state routes where applicable.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills; ability to lift ~100 pounds for hookups.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations (including doubles where applicable).
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections of equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor/trailer.
• Verify and complete required documentation and logs.
• Maintain accurate daily logs and comply with DOT regulations.
• Load/unload freight as required and follow dispatch instructions.
• May perform city driver or dock duties when needed.
