Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a professional CDL-A driver to pick up and deliver trailers between service centers and turn-points. You will operate tractor-trailers, perform pre-trip inspections, hook/unhook, and maintain logs while adhering to safety rules and dispatch instructions.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements. Automatic transmission allowed.
• Must have 1 year experience within the last 3 years or successful completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• MVR must meet hiring standards and comply with DOT requirements under FMC regulations.
• Long combination vehicles are operated in specified states; certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles; perform daily pre-trip inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies; verify and complete required documentation.
• Maintain accurate daily logs and comply with dispatch instructions and safety regulations.
• Load and unload freight as required; follow all laws and company procedures.
• May perform duties of a city driver or dock employee as needed.
