Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a CDL driver to pick up and deliver trailers between Service Centers and turn-points with tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles where applicable. You will perform pre-trip inspections, secure cargo, and communicate with dispatch to resolve issues.

The role requires compliance with DOT regulations, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Overnight stays may be required depending on schedule.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Class A CDL with doubles/triples and tank endorsements (hazmat preferred).
• Must meet DOT and MVR standards per FedEx Freight hiring guidelines.
• Strong safety mindset and ability to perform pre-trip inspections.
• Ability to communicate with dispatch and complete required paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations (including doubles/triples when applicable).
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections of equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies as required.
• Maintain accurate daily logs and required documentation.
• Follow dispatch instructions and report delays or issues.
• Load and unload freight as needed and ensure cargo security.
• Comply with all laws, regulations, and company policies.
