Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a CDL A driver to pick up and deliver trailers between service centers and turn-point locations. You will operate tractor-trailers, perform safety inspections, hook/unhook equipment, and maintain logs while following dispatch instructions.

The role requires CDL with hazmat/tank endorsements, DOT compliance, and the ability to work independently or with a team. Competitive pay and full benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements (automatic transmission restriction allowed).
• 1 year experience within the last 3 years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must have acceptable MVR per hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under 49 CFR 391.
• Long Combination Vehicles (LCV) qualifications in listed states.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to hook up/break down sets requiring around 100 lb lift.
• Ability to sit, bend, twist, squat, climb in/out of truck.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete training.
• Ability to work independently and/or as a team.
• Demonstrates initiative and motivation.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations including doubles (and triples where applicable).
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies as required.
• Maintain accurate daily logs and documentation.
• Comply with DOT regulations and company policies.
• Load and unload freight as required.
• Communicate with dispatch about delays or problems.
• Perform other duties as required.
