Job summary

FedEx Freight is hiring a CDL Class A driver to transport trailers between service centers and turn-points. You will perform pre-trip inspections, hook/unhook trailers, and log daily activities in a compliant manner.

The role requires hazardous materials endorsement, clean MVR, and adherence to DOT regulations. Overnight stays may be required; competitive hourly and mileage pay available, with benefits typical of FedEx Freight positions.

Qualifications

• Must hold a class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tanker endorsements.
• Minimum 1 year driving within the last 3 years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must have a clean MVR and meet DOT FMCSA requirements.
• Experience with long combination vehicles may be required in some states.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles/triples when applicable.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections of equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and connect converter dollies.
• Maintain accurate logs and complete required documentation.
• Comply with hazardous materials regulations and company policies.
• Communicate with dispatch regarding delays or issues.
• Load/unload freight as needed and support other roles if required.
