Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a qualified truck driver to pick up and deliver trailers between Service Centers and turn-points using tractor-trailer combinations. The role requires a Class A CDL with double/triple and hazmat endorsements, a clean motor vehicle record, and DOT compliance.

Responsibilities include pre-trip inspections, safe loading/unloading, documenting required reports, and maintaining logs. Overnight stays may be required on some schedules and safety regulations must be followed.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with double/triple, hazardous materials and tank endorsements.* Automatic transmission CDL restriction allowed.
• 1 year experience within most recent 3 years, or successful completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must meet all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulatory requirements under FMC regulations (391).

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer including doubles (and triples where applicable).
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor and/or trailer.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Maintain accurate daily logs.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate with dispatch.
• Load and unload freight as required.
