Summary

The Logistics Transportation Specialist will be responsible for drayage transportation and inbound shipping. They will supervise raw material shipping operations, managing international forwarders (NVOCC) and container transportation companies. The individual will monitor shipments from South Korea and China to Hanwha Qcells Georgia Inc., ensuring service quality and cost efficiency, while implementing improvement projects during inbound shipping.

Description

The Logistics Transportation Specialist manages raw material transportation from import ports (Savannah, LA) to the Cartersville plant, sourcing trucking companies and bidding for cost reductions, while controlling irregular costs like demurrage or detention. They oversee logistics for solar panel raw materials such as glass, aluminum frames, junction boxes, wires, silicone, sheets, back sheets, flux, cells, wafers, and ingots, working within a cross-functional team environment across Hanwha Group subsidiaries.

Responsibilities

• Manage and track in-transit raw material inventory from overseas to the factory
• Monitor shipments across different transportation modes (truck, rail, sea, air)
• Analyze route diversification considering lead times
• Process import transport orders and daily plans
• Create and verify shipping reports
• Manage raw material procurement and shipments from origin
• Oversee vessel space operations for on-time shipments
• Bid for reliable logistics service providers to reduce costs
• Conduct weekly stock counts and promote efficient usage
• Monitor costs related to demurrage and detention
• Prepare transportation reports for management
• Communicate regularly with forwarders and carriers
• Set and track transportation KPIs monthly
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders
• Support team activities and other related duties

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, SCM, Business Management, or related fields
• 1-3 years of logistics and transportation experience
• Strong knowledge of logistics, transportation, and customs procedures
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent organizational and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in Korean and English (spoken and written)
• Advanced skills in SAP and Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of CPIM, CSCP, SCM certifications
• Experience with high-volume, multi-site distribution and FMS, TMS/EPR systems

Work Environment

• Office setting or construction site as needed
