Job summary

Simpson Strong-Tie in McKinney, TX is hiring an Associate Shipper/Receiver to help move finished goods, ship orders, and maintain stock. You will use our ERP system or tablet to complete shipments, pull and palletize products, and verify that packages meet customer and quality standards.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, forklift certification (will be provided at hire), DOT HazMat training (will certify at hire), and 0–3 months of warehouse/shipping experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Powered Industrial Truck Certification required (will certify at hire).
• DOT HazMat Training required (will certify at hire).
• 0-3 months of warehouse, logistics, and/or shipping experience required.
• Equipment: Operate forklift, reach truck, order picker, and electric pallet jack.
• Safety: Ability to prioritize safety by demonstrating safe work practices and promoting a safe work environment.
• Mathematical Reasoning: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
• Ability to Work Independently: Follow both written and oral instructions, including safety guidelines, work instructions, and company policies.
• Attendance: Reliable, punctual attendance per policy.
• Communication Skills: Communicate effectively with all departments and levels.
• Quality Standards Knowledge: Understand quality standards and QC processes.

Responsibilities

• Complete shipments using ERP system and/or tablet.
• Pull, package, and palletize products for shipment.
• Ensure incoming and outgoing shipments meet packaging, customer, and quality standards.
• Receive, stock, and rotate product.
• Identify, tag, store and locate finished inventory. (70%)
• Create and apply documents, such as shipping labels, packing list, and bills of lading for each pallet/shipment. (10%)
• Maintain a clean work environment. (10%)
• Other duties as assigned. (10%)
