Job summary

Maersk is seeking a Logistics Planner in Edison, NJ to coordinate and optimize cargo movement across the global supply chain, focusing on transportation planning, resource efficiency, and cost control while maintaining high customer service.

You will monitor shipments, update TMS systems, and collaborate with on-site teams to ensure safe, compliant operations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 3-5 years logistics experience in lieu of degree.
• Experience retrieving and analyzing port/terminal operational data to support planning.
• Strong ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced logistics environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with drivers, customers, terminals, carriers, and stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution to maintain service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate the movement of cargo across trucking networks.
• Monitor shipment schedules and ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Optimize transportation routes, capacity utilization, and equipment allocation.
• Maintain accurate shipment records and update transportation management systems (TMS) and other platforms.
• Plan and coordinate driver schedules 3-4 days in advance and adjust in real time to optimize service levels.
• Manage exceptions such as delays, disruptions, or capacity shortages.
• Collaborate with on-site Logistics Planner to ensure continuous coverage.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, customs requirements, and policies.
