Job summary

Maersk Logistics & Services USA, Inc. in Edison, New Jersey is seeking a Logistics Planner to coordinate and optimize cargo movement across Maersk's global supply chain.

The role focuses on planning transportation activities, monitoring shipment performance, and maintaining high levels of customer service while controlling costs. Responsibilities include planning trucking movements, monitoring schedules, optimizing routes and equipment, and maintaining TMS records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or a related field or 3-5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain planning, or operations in lieu of degree
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced logistics environment
• Strong communication with drivers, customers, terminals, carriers and internal teams

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate the movement of cargo across trucking networks
• Monitor shipment schedules and ensure timely delivery of goods
• Optimize transportation routes, capacity utilization, and equipment allocation
• Maintain accurate shipment records and update transportation management systems (TMS) and other platforms
• Plan and coordinate driver schedules 3-4 days in advance while adjusting in real-time
• Manage exceptions such as delays, disruptions, or capacity shortages
• Collaborate with on-site team to ensure continuous operational coverage
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
• Maintain records and update transportation management systems
