Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. is seeking a Manager Trainee to learn the management of a small driver count and non-traditional shifts, including nights and weekends.

You will ensure safe, timely freight movement, load assignment, and best-in-class service while training to comply with DOT regulations. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
• Willing to travel to account, customer, and company event locations when applicable.
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed.
• Willingness to regionally relocate dependent on account assignment.
• Experience managing a team

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with drivers and safe carriers to set up new carriers and maximize productivity.
• Fill in for absent personnel and on special projects to optimize fleet operations.
• Train drivers and staff on internal and third-party systems.
• Improve fleet efficiency, measure KPIs, and present customer reporting and financial analysis.
• Manage inventory, assets, and driver assignments to balance equipment.
• Handle payroll, budgeting, invoicing, and related reports.
• Coordinate with maintenance for vehicle upkeep and safety issues.
• Resolve service issues with drivers and customers throughout the day.
• Maintain safety culture and ensure DOT compliance.
• Plan loads, routes, and monitor freight to meet customer requirements.
