Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Manager Trainee to learn the management of a small driver count and non-traditional shifts, including nights and weekends.

You will ensure safe and timely movement of freight, load assignment, and provide best-in-class customer service, while complying with DOT regulations and company policies. The role involves planning, routing, monitoring, and delivery of freight and loads, working with drivers, customers, and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or GED with related experience (see minimum qualifications).
• Willingness to travel to account, customer and company events.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain positive relationships with drivers and carriers to ensure seamless carrier setup and maximize productivity.
• Fill in for absent personnel and support special projects related to fleet operations and profitability.
• Learn to train drivers and staff, and assist with internal and third-party systems.
• Assist in analyzing P&L statements, invoicing, and creating operational or financial reports.
• Learn to manage yard operations, equipment inspections, and coordinating with maintenance for preventive maintenance.
