Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Manager Trainee to learn the management of a small driver count and non-traditional shifts, including nights and weekends, while ensuring safe, timely movement of freight and best-in-class customer service.

You will be trained to ensure DOT compliance and oversee drivers' regulatory adherence, coordinating with internal and external contacts for planning, routing, and delivery of freight and loads.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in management, logistics, or a related field.
• Experience managing teams and coordinating with drivers and customers.
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights/weekends if needed.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build relationships with drivers and carriers for smooth onboarding.
• Fill in for absent personnel and support special fleet projects.
• Train drivers and staff on internal and customer systems.
• Maximize fleet efficiency, monitor KPIs, and present customer reports.
• Manage inventory, assets, and driver assignments to balance equipment.
• Perform payroll, budgeting, invoicing, and financial reporting tasks.
• Support yard operations, maintenance scheduling, and safety compliance.
• Coordinate with drivers, customers, and staff to resolve issues throughout the day.
