Job summary

Greco and Sons, Inc. seeks a Transportation Supervisor to support the transportation manager in supervising delivery and backhaul activities. You will train and supervise the transportation team, ensure regulatory compliance (DOT, OSHA), and promote safety within the department.

The role involves coordinating schedules, enforcing food safety policies, and collaborating with warehouse and customer service teams to resolve delivery issues. Strong leadership and logistics skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; or equivalent experience.
• 2-4 years of transportation experience and/or training.
• Class A CDL preferred but not required.
• Certificate of DOT regulations training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises daily work and safety of transportation associates.
• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (DOT, OSHA).
• Oversees labor hours and consumable supplies within budget.
• Prepares work schedules and cross-trains staff.
• Directs proper selection and utilization of company assets for delivery.
• Coordinates repairs with proper departments.
• Reviews delivery functions and productivity reporting; suggests efficiency ideas.
• Interprets and enforces company policies including food safety and DOT regulations.
• Communicates with warehouse and customer service to resolve issues.
• Visits customer locations to address issues and assess delivery difficulty.
• Maintains associate relations through regular meetings and updates.
• Works with safety manager on training and accident investigations.
• Performs staff selection, development, discipline, performance reviews.
