in Haslet, TX is seeking a Manager Trainee to learn the essentials of managing a small driver count and non-traditional shifts, including nights and weekends, while ensuring safe and timely movement of freight. Under supervision, you will develop skills in load planning, driver relations, payroll, and DOT compliance, with opportunities to advance into leadership roles within the Supply Chain department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field OR High School Diploma/GED with 1 year of experience in management, transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, or related field, and/or equivalent military experience
• Willing to travel to account, customer, and company event locations when applicable
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed
• Willingness to regionally relocate dependent on account assignment
• Experience managing a team (preferred)
• Anticipate, recognize, and deal effectively with conflicts at various levels
• Ability to analyze situations and make informed decisions
• Adaptability to changing environments
• Ability to build relationships with clients, vendors, and peers
• Ability to meet or exceed team/driver needs and provide excellent service
• Ability to communicate effectively across mediums
• Ability to diagnose and resolve organizational or process problems

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain positive professional relationships with drivers and safe outside carriers
• Fill in for absent personnel and work on special projects related to fleet optimization
• Learn personnel management including training and orientation of drivers and staff
• Develop reporting and financial analysis for customers and internal stakeholders
• Gain knowledge of inventory, assets, and driver assignments to balance equipment
• Perform administrative duties such as payroll, budgeting, invoicing, and reporting
• Learn to manage yard operations and coordinate with maintenance for preventive services
• Collaborate with drivers, customers, and company teams to resolve service issues
• Maintain safety culture through daily messages, trainings, and compliance with DOT regulations
• Assign loads and plan routes to ensure safe, on-time service and meet customer requirements
