Job summary

DSV – Global Transport and Logistics in Northlake, USA is seeking an Operations Manager to direct day-to-day site operations, including warehousing, receiving, and shipping, under the General Manager. You will plan inbound and outbound volumes, optimize space, manage equipment, and lead hiring and training initiatives.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, and cost objectives, with accountability for performance, teamwork, and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 7 years’ experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment.
• 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role.
• Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during the warmer and colder months.

Responsibilities

• Develops systems and procedures for managing operations, equipment, and products safely and profitably in line with company policies.
• Manages operations to meet prescribed productivity and service goals; complies with client SLAs.
• Drives Continuous Improvement and recommends cost-saving measures.
• Meets client KPIs and quality system requirements.
• Manages operations to achieve objectives; supervises team with fair, motivational leadership.
• Collaborates with HR on hiring, training, and development; participates in performance evaluations for promotions.
• Delivers results by utilizing the right people at the right time.
• Keeps senior management and clients informed of critical issues affecting operations.
• Plans daily work schedule by reviewing work orders, notices, and customer instructions.
• Reviews volume Demand to reorganize warehouse space and staffing levels.
• Ensures training is delivered by qualified individuals and SOPs are followed.
• Monitors trainee progress for performance and cultural fit.
