Job summary

USPack is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee transportation services for multiple clients, coordinating Independent Contractors to move goods from client locations to designated destinations. This role emphasizes relationship-building with clients and ICs, ensuring service levels, and managing margins.

Candidates should have experience in logistics, route planning, and customer service, plus a valid driver’s license and willingness to travel across the Pittsburgh area.

Qualifications

• Experience with utilizing IC’s, logistics/courier route management, route scheduling and customer service.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for driver and customer interactions.
• Clear verbal and written communications across organizational levels.
• Ability to plan, prioritize and organize competing tasks with deadlines.
• Understanding of independent contractor relationships.
• Ability to work from home with travel across the area.
• Occasional extra hours to handle operational issues.
• Proficient in Outlook, Excel and Word.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license and clean vehicle.
• Lift up to 50 pounds when needed.

Responsibilities

• Meet with Client regularly to build relationships and complete visit documentation.
• Review OTD, Piece Scan, and Location Scan by Account.
• Create, review, and resolve service issues using Delivery Incident Reports.
• Prepare customer reports and audits.
• Engage in IC activities and negotiations.
• Meet with potential ICs to verify capabilities.
• Discuss routes, stops, issues, and client concerns with ICs.
• Orient ICs to client SOPs and systems.
• Monitor services to ensure contractual compliance (apparel, paperwork, etc.).
• Assist in troubleshooting eCMobile issues.
• Plan route coverage and communicate changes to ICs.
• Ensure timely service delivery and maintain gross margins.
• Negotiate contracted services and settlements with ICs.
• Monitor margins by account and adjust as needed.
• Process driver payments and related adjustments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
