Job summary

Ryder in Livermore seeks a Logistics Manager to plan and direct daily fleet operations, guiding dispatch staff, drivers, and owner-operators to maximize productivity and budget adherence. You will develop policies, set routes, recruit and train personnel, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, while communicating across departments.

Qualifications

• H.S. diploma/GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain preferred.
• Three (3) years or more relevant experience in supply chain, logistics, warehouse or industry related field required.
• Two (2) years or more managing and leading direct reports required.
• Excellent knowledge of Transportation and/or Warehouse Logistics operations. advanced required.
• Excellent knowledge of safety and security requirements. advanced required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily fleet operations and directing dispatch staff, drivers, and owner operators.
• Develop policies, programs, and procedures for efficient transportation systems and terminals.
• Set schedules, routes, and assign drivers and vehicles.
• First point of contact for operational information and driver concerns.
• Recruit, orient, train, and monitor progression of new drivers.
• Monitor turnover and costs; implement programs to minimize turnover.
