Job summary

UNFI’s Howell Township, NJ location is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to help oversee drivers and staff in the Transportation Department. You will implement schedules, track departures, and ensure daily operations run smoothly while coordinating with customers and internal partners.

The role emphasizes coordinating changes, maintaining timely deliveries, and supporting management with data entry and quality checks. CDL A preferred and strong DOT knowledge are a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of Department of Transportation regulations.
• CDL A preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Good judgment and communication across teams and with customers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily operations by scheduling drivers and staff to maximize efficiency and on-time deliveries.
• Monitor driver departure times and report to management.
• Share on-call responsibilities within the Transportation Department.
• Coordinate delivery schedules with drivers and notify customers of delays or issues.
• Provide backup support to the Transportation Manager including data entry and quality checks.
• Serve as a central communication point for schedule changes and new account services.
