Job summary

United Natural Foods, Inc. (UNFI) in Riverside, CA seeks a Transportation Supervisor to assist management in directing drivers and staff of the Transportation Department.

You’ll implement schedules, oversee departures, and coordinate daily functions, communicating changes to customers and internal teams. Responsibilities include routing loads, ensuring on-time deliveries, working with Warehouse, and maintaining regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in transportation, preferably in grocery distribution
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance
• Ability to supervise and motivate a team
• Strong communication both verbal and written
• Proficient with MS Office tools (Excel/Word/Access)

Responsibilities

• Routes and schedules loads for distribution efficiently
• Ensure merchandise is delivered in good condition
• Coordinate with Warehouse for timely deliveries
• Assign drivers to loads and ensure compliance with regulations
• Maintain positive relations with store management and customers
• Perform driver road testing and qualifications
• Adhere to company, federal, state, and local laws
