Job summary

Amazon Logistics is seeking an Operations Engineer to lead cross-functional projects, delivering next-generation sortation and distribution solutions. You will plan facility network infrastructure, retrofits, expansions, and program initiatives with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include driving schedules, integrating with operations and vendors, and ensuring safety and quality targets while communicating progress to leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
• Flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.
• Experience in material handling equipment (MHE) or automation environments.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, and field execution through launch readiness and go-live phases.
• Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360, etc.).
• Experience leading large-scale programs/projects.
• 3+ years of experience as a project engineer, process engineer, project manager, manufacturing engineer, or related occupation.

Responsibilities

• Lead lifecycle management of challenging cross-functional projects to deliver on objectives.
• Participate in engineering reviews and influence solutions at system/component level.
• Set project priorities with internal teams and external vendors; manage milestones and schedules.
• Coordinate execution of system/equipment designs per standards; perform installation and qualifications.
• Lead meetings with clear objectives; document decisions and next steps for alignment.
• Communicate project status, risk analysis, and mitigation plans to leadership.
• Articulate designs including layouts and specifications to internal customers.
• Manage change orders, purchase orders, and invoice approvals.
• Build strong working relationships with stakeholders across projects.
• Identify and drive process improvements to enhance cross-teams’ efficiency.
• Travel up to 80% domestically.
